Happy Hanukkah from the entire staff at Claery & Hammond, LLP
Stephanie Puca of North Potomac, Maryland explains that Hanukkah is an eight day "Festival of the Lights " in celebration of the Macabeess' victory in 165 bc over Antiochus, and the redirection of the Temple of Jerusalem. The Macabees hid for eight total days via candle light even though the the oil was only supposed to last for one.
This is an eight day period where many families come together and celebrate with their children.
