A recent study published by the United States Census Bureau suggests that you may have a better chance at a longer marriage if you reside in the northeastern part of the country. New Jersey had the lowest amount, with 9.1 percent of divorced adults (over the age of 18) compared to 52 percent of its residents who are married. New York was the second lowest.
The study suggests that adults in these areas wait until they are financially and emotionally ready to be married which helps their chances of staying married in the future.
