At Claery & Hammond, LLP, we are not only dedicated to helping our clients build brighter futures, we are passionate about contributing to our society. To illustrate this, we recently received an endearing letter from the University of Maryland Honors College, thanking us for our very generous contribution that went towards one of its students.
In the letter, the Honors College informed us that our generous donation helps students build the foundation for a brighter future. We were able to help provide a scholarship to one student in particular, who is a sophomore Computer Science major and an aspiring to be a Cybersecurity Analyst.
This student is in the Advanced Cybersecurity Experience for Students (ACES) Program, and he is active in the program’s Competition team. He is also a member of the ACES Student Board, and he is acting as the Lab Chair, where he helps manage the ACES Lab.
Additionally, the student we helped secured a summer internship at MITRE Corporation, an organization that oversees federally-funded research centers. Above all that, we learned that the young gentleman is a presidential scholar.
The Honors College was kind enough to tell us how our donation was greatly appreciated by this outstanding student, who said to us, “Thank you for your donation. It has allowed me to meet like-minded people that have challenged me to learn more, and grow as a student at the University.”
The Honors College aims to provide an academically enriched program to students of exceptional academic abilities.
Through the generous donations of parents, friends, and Honors College alumni, the program is able to provide scholarships to bright students for a world that needs their intellect, compassion and ingenuity.
Not only were we honored to donate to the Honors College, but we are proud to have played a role in helping the students in the program enhance their exceptional academic talents, which we are confident will only lead to technological advances in our society.
